Model Implementation Engineer - NY, London or Singapore

"A successful strategy is only successful when it's in production" - Every Quant Developer

Do you have the maths and engineering ability to understand a trading Model and then code up the algorithm?

No - thanks for stopping by.

Yes - keep reading.

You probably did maths and computer science during your undergrad and have taken the engineering career path. Your maths is still reasonably sharp as you've been working in a quant dev role for the past 5+ years and although you don't like to boast you know your way around Python, especially Pandas, Numpy and Scikit

Yep, that sounds like me. So what ?

Why not join a new team and be excited to go to work. A team of extremely talented and collaborative Quantitative Researchers, Engineers and Portfolio Managers. Everybody if technical and hands-on so your ability will be recognised and it's a small team of 20 so you will have an impact.

What would I actually do ?

You will, in no particular order;

  • Be the owner and manager of a distributed real time trading system which is responsible for computing signals and target positions for various strategies
  • Work with the Researchers and Portfolio Managers - they are a nice bunch - and make their life easier by adding new capabilities for existing strategies
  • You will own the design and production implementation of new strategies - it's a pretty important role - see above quote.
  • Relentlessly identify bottlenecks within the existing platform and show no mercy in getting rid of them
  • They are focused on futures right now but want to expand into other asset classes - "make it so"

How do I get in touch?

You can ping me an email at s.grainger@gslsearch.com or use the link below to book time into my diary.
