C++ Engineer - Chicago / NY

C++ Engineer - Chicago/NY

Who are you?

An engineer that has a real depth of technical knowledge. Your language of choice is C++ but you can very easily switch to Python and understand the pros and cons of both. You've worked within a quant trading firm and had experience from market data through to the research and simulation environments.

Although you are not a quant you have enough experience working with researchers to build the right tools, whether it's machine learning systems or real time data ingestion.

It could be that your current role is not challenging you any more or that growth has turned into stangantion. Either way, if you are open to a challenge this role could be for you.

Yes, I am open to a new challenge - tell me more.

An early stage quant fund (established in 2019) is going through their next stage of growth. The start up phase is over and as they mature, they are expanding into different regions and also higher frequencies. The platform is still relatively new and there are still lots of hard engineering problems / technical decisions to be made. The research platform is in Python and involves vast data sets and various different statistical and ML based modelling. As they are maturing, and move into high frequencies, they want to identify ways to leverage C++ in the ML process and feature computations.

Accordingly they need an engineer who is fluent in both Python (as a lot of core infrastructure and potential projects will still be in Python) and C++ (to identify where there is an edge in implementing in C++).

I know what you're thinking, you don't want to have to evangelise C++ to a bunch of Python engineers but the reality is the engineering team is language agnostic and everybody is singing from the same hymns sheet - the best solution will always win.

OK, sounds good, I have a few questions, how do I get in touch?
